Homelessness is one of the UK’s biggest issues. With over 4000 people sleeping rough on the street every night, and a big percentage of them living in London.

People sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence and are over nine times more likely to take their own life than the general population. Homelessness can happen to anyone and is caused by a number of reasons. Statistics show that since 2010, homelessness has doubled in the UK and this should no longer be tolerated. Sodexo are proud to collaborate with Change Please and try to make a difference to the problem.

Change Please is an organisation that helps tackle the issue of homelessness by empowering the homeless community to become baristas; offering them  full barista training and paying them London Living Wage as well as arranging housing, bank accounts and mental support.

With the love for coffee growing every day in the UK, Change Please believes that it could be just what they need to end homelessness and now Sodexo is proud to be a part of it.

As the main catering and coffee provider for University College London, Sodexo thought it would be great to start cooperating with Change Please as an SME supply partner and start to make a difference.

With Sodexo's continuous commitment to improve the Quality of Life as well as economic development of the local communities in which we work, we are excited to bring Change Please to UCL and advise that their services have commenced from the Sodexo Megavan in January 2018 to serve coffee to students and staff in the UCL Main Quad at Bloomsbury.

Every time that a customer grabs a cup of coffee from the Megavan, they are in turn helping someone rebuild their life.
